Homemade Hibachi

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I rarely post recipes on here. However, since I have been learning to cook recently, I decided to start sharing a few of our go-to easy recipes that are quick to make AND delicious. You can check out the first one I shared here. Anyways, I have been making this homemade hibachi for a few years now and it is a staple in our house. It’s seriously SO easy and so good you guys. It is a great dish to make if you are hosting dinner for friends because it makes a lot, it’s fairly inexpensive to make and yummy. Plus, let’s be real, who doesn’t love yum-yum sauce?

I will say the prep time for this takes a little longer, so if you are a mama, I suggest cutting up your vegetables, meats and prepping the sauce during nap-time. Once you have this all done, it takes no time to make!

Vegetables (you can use any you want, but here is what we normally do)

  • 1 onion -Chopped
  • I squash- Chopped
  • 1 Zucchini – Chopped

Instructions: Mix all together. Use about 1 teaspoon of butter and sauté on the stove top in a large pan. Set aside.

Rice:

  • 1 Box of minute rice (follow instructions to cook)
  • 1 scrambled egg
  • 4-5 teaspoons of soy sauce

Instructions: Mix together. Once mixed together, put in a large pan with some butter to brown rice. Brown until a little fried. 🙂 Or serve without browning (your choice) Set aside.

Steak & Chicken (you can use any you want, but here is what we normally do)

  • 1 chicken breast (chopped into bite size pieces)
  • 1 filet (chopped into bite size pieces)

Instructions: Cook on the stove top in a large pan with about 1 tablespoon of butter until cooked. Set aside.

Yum-Yum Sauce:

  • 1-1/4 cup mayonnaise (do not use light mayo)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions: Mix ingredients together. Cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours (overnight works too and tastes even better! 

Serve with a side salad topped with yum-yum sauce for dressing & Sapporo if you’re not pregnant! Enjoy! 🙂
